Miniature Masterpieces

Super talented illustrator Chloe Giordano (from Oxford in the UK) likes to describe herself as an “avid reader, history lover and dreadful knitter” – a little modest don’t you think?

Chloe’s embroidered illustrations of woodland animals are so intricate and delicate that my eyes water just imagining the intense love and concentration that must go into each and every stitch. Each hand crafted piece is insanely detailed – with all the rich colours being painstakingly built up thread by thread – a true wonder.

I spotted these embroidered brooches on Pinterest and couldn’t resist showing you. Aren’t they just so gorgeous? I don’t know much about them other than that they are made by the very talented Heng Lee, a Taiwanese Jewelry designer. You can see more of Heng Lee’s work on his Facebook page

On my Christmas wish list: An embroidered kitty shirt

Dear Father Christmas – please, please, please can I also have a purrfectly crisp white linen shirt embroidered by Hiroko Kubota. Thanks so much – xxx

Apparently these amazing shirts were first made for Hiroko Kubota’s cat obsessed son. Kubota is a Japanese embroidery artist who’s talents are being snapped up as her gorgeous shirts sell like hot cakes. You can see more of her photos here and check out her Etsy shop here.

So adorable – I am in love!

Insect Life

I just love these entomological studies by UK textile artist Claire Moynihan. Claire’s attention to detail is amazing and each tiny creature is lovingly hand embroidered and attached to a felted ball. Once a collection is complete, she assembles the specimens in gorgeous glass display cases, each worthy of exhibition in any natural history collection.
